A spotlight on Prof. Elizabeth Lambert's first mobility experience as an EUniwell Champion at the University of Murcia.
Elisabeth Lambert had the opportunity to give a lecture during Dorothy Estrada Tanck’s three-hour course on international human rights law, which focused on the enforcement of European Court of Human Rights judgments. After an overview of the challenges involved in enforcement, the students were invited to discuss the pros and cons of transferring supervision of enforcement to the Court itself.
A working meeting was held with two legal colleagues, Dorothy Estrada Tanck (an expert in women’s and girls’ rights) and Rafael Castillo Felipe (a specialist in civil, criminal, and administrative procedure), to prepare a response to an Horizon call for proposals in 2027.
Elisabeth met with four colleagues from the Faculty of Business and Economics, all of whom are members of the interdisciplinary group on the governance of socio-ecological systems/knowledge and transfer group, coordinated by Maria Semitel Garcia, Full Professor in the Department of Applied Economics. During a working meeting, Elisabeth presented the CLAIM project (coastal erosion, coastal flooding, and support for residents affected by climate-related risks), funded by the PEPR IRIMA, for which a field study in Spain is planned. These discussions helped identify relevant case studies along the Mediterranean coast. Many thanks to Maria Gimenez Casalduero, Professor of administrative law, for her input on Spanish coastal legislation.
Elisabeth had a lengthy discussion with her colleague Susana Martínez Rodríguez, a full professor of economic history and the designated Champion for the University of Murcia, about their plans for the coming year.
Many thanks for these discussions, the warm welcome, and the opportunity for future collaborations.
