Launched in 2020 by the University of Valencia’s research group on Decent Work and Just Transitions (TRADECEN), this seminar, which brings together approximately 25 participants, focuses on training doctoral students. It aims to:

  • Provide methodological and scientific support for the development of ongoing doctoral dissertations by placing the doctoral student at the center of the training process.
  • Promote international exchanges by facilitating interaction between doctoral students and experts from various universities in Europe and other continents through the presentation of research related to their ongoing doctoral dissertations.

This seminar also serves as a platform for international scientific cooperation through a partnership among various universities in Europe and beyond, with the goal of strengthening academic dialogue and exchange, broadening the scope of inter-university scientific collaboration, and promoting, on the international stage, high-level research supported by the training of future PhDs. It aims to:

  • Build research networks: create an environment accessible to as many people as possible for the construction of knowledge and the development of sustainable inter-university cooperation.
  • Discuss contemporary issues: promote the exchange of experiences and comparative approaches on current challenges concerning labor law and social security.

Coordinated by a committee of researchers who are recognized experts in their fields, this forum for scientific dialogue brings together different legal traditions, thereby contributing to the formation of a global academic community. Previous conferences have been held at the universities of Seville, Valencia, Milan, Lisbon, and Tangier. They receive support from the Brazilian Academy of Training and Research, which is responsible for live streaming the event, processing registrations, broadcasting it via the Academy’s website, and providing remote technical support.
